A practicing orthopedic surgeon for more than 30 years in the Carmichael area, Dr. Robert L. Cameto was a founding member of Summit Orthopedic Specialists when it opened its doors in 1995. Dr. Cameto is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He enjoys working with patients through their evaluation, treatment and recovery to ensure the quickest return to normal activity.


Dr. Cameto earned his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine, College of Medicine. He then completed a general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Cameto subsequently completed an advanced fellowship at the Duchess of Kent Children’s Orthopaedic Hospital in Hong Kong. Dr. Cameto is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

As a lifelong athlete, Dr. Cameto understands his patients’ needs and works with them to deliver the best possible treatment plans. He works with each patient closely from initial treatment through follow up care to ensure a quick and healthy return to normal activity. In addition to his practice, Dr. Cameto is an avid skier and a member of the doctors volunteer ski patrol at Alpine Meadows. He also serves as team doctor for the Del Campo High School football team. In his spare time, Dr. Cameto and his wife enjoy training for and competing in triathlons.
