About Us

Our History

Since opening its doors in 1995, Summit Orthopedic Specialists has been dedicated to saving lifestyles by providing the most advanced and individualized care needed to help our patients achieve the highest level of health and function. Over the years, our surgeons have brought many innovative new treatments to the region, including computer-assisted total joint replacement, and more recently, MAKOplasty Partial Knee Resurfacing®. We’ve performed more than 300 MAKO Knee procedures – more than anyone else in the area – and recently began offering the innovative MAKOplasty® Total Hip Replacement.

What We Do

Our focus at Summit is the musculoskeletal system, which includes the bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerves. We provide comprehensive care to pediatric and adult patients, from diagnosis through treatment and rehabilitation. Along with many types of non-surgical treatment options, we also perform a wide range of orthopedic surgeries. Among our many specialties, we care for patients who need total joint replacement, sports injury care, arthroscopy, cartilage restoration and more. We also offer an orthopedic urgent care clinic and same-day scheduling for orthopedic problems that need immediate attention.

Our Physicians and Providers

Our physicians and physician assistants specialize in disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Common problems requiring their expertise include broken bones, torn ligaments, sprains, pulled muscles, and tendon injuries, as well as chronic conditions such as joint pain, arthritis and back pain.

Each Summit physician is an experienced, board-certified or board-eligible doctor who works closely with highly skilled physician assistants to provide care. Board certification by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery is a voluntary process. To maintain board certification, our physicians actively keep pace with the latest advances in their orthopedic specialties and pursue regular continuing medical education. In addition, our surgeons have pursued postgraduate fellowship training in specialized areas such as sports medicine and hip arthroscopy. When looking for an orthopedic surgeon, it’s important to find someone who is board certified.

Our Locations

We offer the full spectrum of orthopedic care in our Carmichael office and newly opened Grass Valley office. Services conveniently housed within our clinic include digital X-ray and imaging capabilities, ultrasound-guided injections and durable medical equipment.
