Dawn Topping, PA-C, is a physician assistant who rejoined Summit Orthopedic Specialists in 2014 after spending eight years with the practice earlier in her career. She provides care to pediatric and adult patients with a wide range of orthopedic conditions.
Dawn earned a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Sacramento and a Family Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant certification from the University of California, Davis. Following graduation, she spent a year as a nurse practitioner in a private practice with an emphasis in urgent care, family practice and occupational medicine. She subsequently became a physician assistant with a private orthopedic practice and has spent the vast majority of her 14-year career in orthopedics.
Seeing patients in the clinic and assisting in surgery, Dawn cares for a wide range of orthopedic problems, including arthritis, sports injuries and traumatic injuries. She has extensive experience in arthroscopic procedures, total joint replacement and trauma.
As a lifelong athlete, Dawn was drawn to orthopedics after seeing teammates deal with injuries and experiencing her own injuries. She works to educate each patient about his or her orthopedic condition and discuss treatment options to find the best solution for each individual’s lifestyle.
In her free time, Dawn enjoys yoga, getting outdoors and spending time with her family.
